##2nd Draft: Beginnings to Build Off Of## I'll admit it — I'm one of those people who live vicariously through television characters (such as Alex from Modern Family, or Rachel from Friends). I've always dreamed of one day finding someone I can spend my life with. Even when I was young, my fantasies were mostly revolving around finding my soulmate. So naturally, when I came across the English version of Amagami SS: After Loving You, a Japanese dating simulation game for Playstation 2 and PSP, it seemed like a dream come true. I've been playing this game for over two years. It's incredibly addictive — the way each character has their own distinct personality and storyline to follow makes each character's route feel very unique and special. Because of how addictive the game is, I've bought 3 different versions of it (all of them on PSP) and I currently own a Playstation 3 (PS3) as well. Amagami SS: After Loving You is a visual novel type dating sim. The main character Ami is an 18 year old college student who is always busy with school and work. There's no time for her to go on dates, so she only interacts with a few of her friends from college. When one of those friends, Yuiko, starts going on dates with other guys that Ami has never met before, she thinks that Yuiko may have found someone new... and she might just be right! As Ami's route unfolds, you'll find out that Yuiko's not on a date — she's getting married to the new guy she's been dating on and off for four years. [NOTE: If you're looking for a review of the English version of this game, please check out the following links: 1 ] The twist at this point is that Ami has fallen in love with Yuiko... But who doesn't?! Before long, you'll find yourself making decisions that will determine whether or not your relationship survives. You can't save everyone though... The game ends when one of your characters dies accidentally or intentionally. The game contains 6 different endings, each with a different set of bad endings. Before long you'll learn to press the X button to skip through the text quickly. The English version of the game has many similarities to the Japanese version, but there are also many differences. For example, in the Japanese version, Ami is an 18 year old high school student. In the English version, she's an 18 year old college student who has taken a few years off before entering college because she was ill and needed a break from school work. Another difference is that some of the characters' ages have been changed as well — Yuiko is 22 in the Japanese version but 23 in the English version.
